Paper Sundaes Challenge #54 - Love/Valentines with Pink Cat Studio

Happy Sunday!  This week's Paper Sundaes Challenge is so much fun!  We want to you show us some LOVE!  We would like to see your Valentines/Love cards and this week we are sponsored by:

They have the cutest new release out and our DT was lucky enough to pick one of their images.  I LOVE mine it is simply too cute.  I chose to use this digi image:  Monkey Love!
I coloured them with copics and used spica glitter pens on the flowers & hearts.  All DP used was from Basic Grey's Bittersweet collection other than the Bazill Cardstock.  I ran the brown cardstock through my cuttlebug with the heart embossing folder.  The cool background heart was cut out using my Cricut Expression from the Wild Card Cartridge & the sentiment was something I typed up on my computer.  I'm so in love with this stamp, now if I only had someone to give this too!!

Be sure to check out the other DT creations over at the Paper Sundaes Blog, they are super adorable.

I will be entering this card into the following challenges:

Critter Sketch Challenge #48 - Distressing & Circles!!

Today marks Critter Sketch Challenge #48 and we are asking you to use a technique on your card:  DISTRESSING!  We are also asking to see a circle/circles somewhere on your creation.  This can be buttons, brads, your image anything you like as long as we can see it!   We are being sponsored by The Stamping Boutique for the whole month long so be sure you play along for your chance to win!  Not only can you enter our challenge but if you use a Stamping Boutique image you can enter their monthly contest here for a chance to win some free digi images!

Here's my card:
I used The Stamping Boutique Image Butterfly but I was searching their store & couldn't find the image to link to.  I hope it's still available for you, it's so pretty!  I coloured the image with copics and cut the image out using my circle nesties.  I inked the edges and mounted on a scallop circle nestie that I had cut from Coredinations cardstock and sanded the edges.  The DP on the card that is peeking out is by Basic Grey and the corners of the card have more coredinations cardstock embossed with my circle embossing folder on my cuttlebug and sanded down to show through.  I also roughed up the edges of the card with a distressing tool from my Making Memories kit.  Lastly I added some circle dew drops to the body of the butterfly.

Hope you have a great Monday!  Be sure to check out the Critter Sketch Blog to see more of the wonderful DT creations!

Paper Sundaes Challenge #53 DE-STRESSING & Blog Candy Winner

Thanks to everyone who took part in Paper Sundaes Birthday Celebration!  Hope you had a lot of fun and it was great to see what challenges everyone chose from last year to use in last week's challenge!  This week at Paper Sundaes the challenge is DE-STRESSING (distressing)!!  Who doesn't need to de-stress after the holidays?  We are being sponsored again by the fabulous Simon Says Stamp so you know there is a great prize up for grabs!  OK....so distressing is certainly not my strong point but I have seen so many fabulous projects out there & can't wait to see what everyone comes up with and learn some new tips!
Here's my card:
I used some of Basic Grey's Bittersweet collection that I've been hanging on to for awhile.  It's so pretty I  just didn't want to use it (silly huh?).  I bet that nobody else out there but me does this, right???  I used this fabulous Tilda with Tag by Magnolia and coloured her with copics.   I loved the sketch that my fellow Sundae Girl Wendy used on her Warm Winter Wishes card so I asked if I could copy the sketch and she said YES!  Thanks Wendy!!  I used my edge distressing tool from my Making Memories kit to scruff up the edges of the card & used some of my Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Spun Sugar & Walnut Brown ink up the edges of the image and scallop background which was cut out using my scallop nesties.  I added some pink pearls & ribbon to complete.  The XOXO sentiment was from an old Making Memories rub-on set that I have.

Oh....almost forgot that the winner to my Spesch Stamp Blog Candy chosen by random.org is:

Sweet Anya

I wanted to make a card specifically with two challenges in mind this week:

Anyone for Anya - Pretty Bows
Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Bingo (I chose brads, flowers & ribbon)

This card turned out much differently then I had originally planned but I love the blue/brown combo:
The background striped paper is from Stampin up & the blue cardstock is coredinations cardstock that I ran through my cuttlebug with an embossing folder (sorry can't remember the name).  I received the flowers quite awhile back from Danielle in a secret sister swap & the ribbon & brads I used for the centres of the flowers I picked up from Michaels ages ago.  It's so nice to use up things you have on hand!!   Hope everyone is having a great week, I've been feeling horrible the past two weeks and am having some tests done to make sure everything is OK but am really looking forward to feeling better.  My son is off to another cub camping trip this weekend in unheated cabins....definitely not for me but he is super excited.  Be sure to check back on Sunday to see who is the winner for my blog candy and don't forget there is still time to take part in Paper Sundaes Birthday Celebration & Blog Hop.  Click here for more details!!

Paper Sundaes 1st Birthday Celebration Challenge & Blog Hop

I'm so excited that it's Paper Sundaes First Birthday Celebration!!  To celebrate we are having a super fun blog hop with some amazing prices and some DT members may even be offering candy along the way so make sure you stop by, say hi & leave them some love!  We wouldn't be celebrating our first Birthday if it wasn't for you playing along with us so a big THANK YOU to all of you!

If you have arrived here from Danielle's blog then you are on the right track!  If not please head back to Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog so you can start at the beginning and make sure you don't miss out on any of the amazing DT creations (or some yummy candy)!   Remember the rules for the hop!!!  Be sure to collect your word and comment at each stop along your way to so that you qualify for our SIX amazing blog hop prizes!  Your last stop is back at Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog where you can leave the sentence you collected along the way in the comments section for your chance to win even more!!  How great is that??

Now, in addition to the blog hop our challenge this week is extra special!!  We would like you to show us your favourite challenge from the past year.  To celebrate this challenge we will have five different prizes for FIVE randomly drawn winners!

For my card this week I chose to use Challenge #23 Pretty as a Princess!  Who doesn't love making girly type cards?  For this challenge originally posted June 20th we asked participants to show us your girliest cards.  I picked this challenge because I received an amazing new stamp called Make a Wish by Sugar Nellie (another one of our FAB SPONSORS) that my friend Sandy picked up for me when he went back to Scotland recently!  To me she looks just like a little fairy princess!

Isn't she just fabulous?  I love the glittery DP by Best Creations Inc that I used for the background too.   All other paper is Bazill cardstock and the purple background was embossed with my swiss dots cuttlebug folder.  I used a fabulous Die-namics die by MFT which must be so popular as it sells out so quickly!   The image was coloured with copics & spica glitter pens and I even tried something new (which just happens to be another Paper Sundaes Challenge from last year)!  I tried the "out of the box" nestie cutting which was much easier than I thought so I know I'll be doing this again!  I popped up the centre with pop-up dots & added some ribbon, pearls and a sentiment to complete.

I know this has been a long post so thank you for hanging around as I'm also offering some small candy (Spesch Designer Stamps - Samantha & Pennyto a random commenter that I will announce next Sunday with my regular Paper Sundaes post so be sure to check back with me then.

Next stop on you blog hop is Alica and your word from me is:  THE

HAVE FUN!!

Miss Anya

Today was a SNOW DAY here and my son was super excited!  It's our first major snowfall this year and all schools in our district were closed so I got to stay home too.....DARN :)

While my son was playing I was able to get a card done using one of the Anya's from the Miss Anya Collection.  My inspiration came from two places:  The colors from the current challenge over at the Anyone for Anya Challenge Blog's Colour Challenge & the sketch SSS90 from The Sweet Stop!
I was able to use up some scraps from my paper stash which is always something I try to do first.  The image was coloured with copics and the ribbon is some I had picked up from Michaels ages ago.  The Flower is by Mulberry Street and I added a pearl to the centre.

Hope everyone is having a fantastic day!  I wish everyday was a snow day so that I could get more crafting done :)

Don't forget to check out Paper Sundaes this Sunday for our upcoming Birthday Celebration!  We have some amazing things in store for you!

Critter Sketch Challenge #46 sponsored by The Stamping Boutique

I'm super excited to be posting for the FIRST time as a new DT member for The Critter Sketch Challenge Blog!  I'm joining a very talented group of girls who you can check out by clicking on the links in my sidebar.  Our very own Colleen Spangler created the sketch we are using this week:

We are being sponsored this month by The Stamping Boutique which I'm super excited about as a past DT member!  Tracey's images are absolutely fantastic and I love the image "Snowfriends" which I used on my card.  My son is dying for some snow as we have had very little so I thought this card would be perfect!  Maybe if I think snow....it will come!
The image was coloured with copics and the DP is Basic Grey.  I embossed the background with the new Sizzix BG folder and the little snowflakes were punched with a Martha Stewart punch.  I added stickles around the edge of the card and tons of glitter to the image & snowflakes with Spica glitter pens but unfortunately still have a hard time capturing glitter in my photos.

I hope you'll check out The Critter Sketch Challenge Blog & play along, new challenges are posted every Monday!

This card will be entered into the following challenges:

Paper Sundaes Challenge #51 - Circles

Happy Sundae!  For Paper Sundaes Challenge #51 and we are asking you to use circles on your creation....this can be your image, sentiments, buttons anything you like as long as it's a circle.  This week our sponsor is Lili of the Valley, home to some of the cutest stamps ever!  They are having a new release on Tuesday so be sure you don't miss it!
If you saw my last post where I listed 3 things about myself you will know that I'm my own worst critic however not this time!  I LOVE my card!  I think it's because the image of "Rosie Posy" is so darn cute and I paired her up with one of my favorite Paper Lines Bo Bunny!  This line is called Petal Pushers & I just giggled out loud because I just checked and the background one with all the flowers is called "Posies"!  I coloured the image with copics & cut out with my circle nesties.  The green background paper is this great banana leaf paper that I picked up the last time I was in the US and it has the greatest texture.  I really wish I had bought more than one sheet of it!  I added some flowers by Mulberry Street added some pearls (more circles) to the centre and some green stickles around the edges of the image.  I wanted to add even more sparkle so I used these cool puffy flourish stickers from Jolee's and a couple more rhinestones from the same set.   I also decided to add the green scallop circle with the image on it to the card using pop-up dots for added dimension & I love the way it looks!

Hope you are having a great weekend!  Make sure you check out the other DT creations plus we are having some DT members from Lili of the Valley play along with us this week & their work is something you don't want to miss!  Don't forget to check back next week too as Paper Sundaes is celebrating a birthday & we've got some great things in store for you :)

Thinking of You

My favourite stamp of all time is Sugar Nellie's Daisy image and I could colour her every day & never get bored!  Isn't she just so cute?  I made this card specifically to play along with the current sketch challenge # 50 at The Sugar Bowl:

Here's my take on it:

I added the optional theme of embossing using my swiss dots Cuttlebug embossing folder.  The image was coloured with copics cut out with my nesties.  The flower brads are from Making Memories & the butterflies were cut out using a Martha Stewart punch.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for the latest Paper Sundaes Challenge!

Blog Award

YAY!! My blog has Attitude!!  Thanks Wendy for the awesome blog award!
As a recipient of this award I need to list 3 things about myself:

1.  I'm probably my own worst critic!  I sometimes stress about things thinking everything has to be just perfect (including my cards) and often think they're not "good enough".  One of my new years resolutions is to change my way of thinking and realize that nobody is perfect and everything I make is just fine and the more I do, the better I'll get :)

2.  I LOVE Cheesecake....any kind, anytime ANYWHERE however since I've joined Weight Watchers I haven't had any but have often thought up saving my extra points & having some and probably will do so SOON :)

3.  I know how to cross-stitch and quilt but once I got back into stamping/cardmaking have done absolutely none of these since I love working on projects I can finish in a night rather than taking weeks/months.   One day when I have more time and my son is grown up I will get back into these two crafts as I really did enjoy them.

Now I have to pass this on to 5 bloggers which is always hard!  I'm passing these on to bloggers whose sites I always visit (thought don't always comment) on.  I admire their work & love visiting their blogs!

February Calendar featuring Anya

I had so much fun creating this February calendar to enter in the current challenge over at Anyone for Anya Challenge Blog!  I've never created one before & had alot of fun doing it.  I printed out my digi image of Anya Valentine and coloured with copics and cut out with my circle nesties.

I added some sparkle to the heart this lovely couple is holding and to Anya's dress with a spica glitter pen.
I cut out the background with a scallop nesties and used the calendar from the template provided over at the Anyone for Anya Blog.  I stamped the I Love you sentiment and "February" which is from a SU set and added a puffy heart sticker.  Other supplies used:  SU Border punch & Bazill Cardstock.

I will enter this in the the following Challenges:
