Critter Sketch Challenge #114 - Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Day is the theme for us this week over at The Critter Sketch Challenge Blog and I kept my card CAS this week.  I'm not a big over embellisher so most of my cards are CAS anyways:

I used the Magnolia image "Tilda with Bunch of Roses" from the Chasing Butterflies collection and paired it with some paper from Echo Parks Victoria Gardens line which is available at our sponsor this month, Stamp & Create!  The image was coloured with copics and then I added some spica glitter pen just for fun :)
The little green scallops under the pink paper is some cute green ribbon that I had in my stash.  I hope you will play along with us this week over at Critter Sketch!

Did you know we are having a DT call?  Check out all the details here!

Paper Sundaes Challenge #62 - Photo Inspiration

Happy Sundae!!  I'd love to say I'm glad it's Sunday but this means the end of a hellish week for me.  I had it off work and have been quite busy so I can't say it's been the relaxing week I was hoping for.  I unfortunately have to go back to work tomorrow :(

The one good thing about today.....it's time for Paper Sundaes Challenge #61!  This week we have a photo inspiration challenge.  These challenges are always fun for me because I love to see how the photo inspires other people's creations.  For me this week I left everything to the last minute because I've been so busy that I basically picked the colours of the flowers as my inspiration for my card.  Here's the photo:
And here's my card:
I coloured this super cute Magnolia image (from the You're So Special Collection) called "Shy Rose Edwin" with copics and then cut out and sponged the edges with real red SU Ink.    I didn't use any design paper on my card, only Bazill Cardstock.  I added a few brads, heart buttons & some ribbon to complete.  I hope you join us this week!!  We have a fabulous sponsor "Michelle's Scrapbooking & More" this week and a wonderful prize to be won!  Check out the website as Michelle's carries many different items.  I was just over browsing and saw the new 2011 copic colour set and a bunch of new Magnolia images from the new Butterfly Dreams Collection!   Oh how I wish I had an endless supply of money to go shopping this very minute :)

Have a great week everyone!

Paper Sundaes Challenge #13 - Make a Scene

Happy Sundae!  The challenge for this week's Paper Sundaes 13th Challenge is to make a "scene" card and is sponsored by My Creative Classroom an online arts and crafts learning center!  When I first heard about the challenge I thought "How am I going to do that?"  Then I realized I had a bunch of Magnolia stamps that I could use to create a scene.  I used 4 different stamps sets to create this card and layered all the images:  Stone Wall and End Pillar, Fence and Summer Background (clouds), Tilda with Flower Jeans and Butterflies.  All images except the cloud were coloured with copics (B00, B02, B04, B06, YG13, YG17, E00, E11, E33, E35, E13, E15, E17, E18, E37, E44, E49, E43, R02, R22, R39, RV32, RV34, W2, W4 and W6).  I cut out each image and then glued it on to my blue background paper.  I wasn't thinking when I started as I did the stone wall before the clouds, that was pretty messy to tear off, let me tell you!  I used SU cardstock and SU border punch.  I also decided I wanted to try stitching on my card but don't have a lot of coloured thread for my sewing machine so I hand stitched it with DMC embroidery thread, god knows I have TONS of that!  I used my pink spica glitter pen to add to the butterflies and my clear glitter to add to Tilda's wings but I couldn't get it to show up well in my photo.

This was a fun challenge!  Making a scene card can be interpreted in so many different ways.  Did you check out the amazing creations by the rest of the Paper Sundae Girls?   I checked out My Creative Classroom's class schedule and there is definitely something for everyone from rubber stamping to scrapbooking techniques and even courses on different die cut machines!   I want to take "Beginner Scenic Stamping" with Sandy Hulsart, the samples look amazing!

I will also be entering this into Roses on Papers Challenge #35 which is to create layers.  I hope that by layering my stamped images this will count!  I will be entering it also into Sew Many Challenges because they asked to use stitching on my card.  Hopefully my attempt at hand-stitching counts :)

Paper Sundaes has even more exciting news so be sure to check out the Paper Sundaes Blog to hear about our sponsor celebration & blog hop!  Have a great day :)
