Back to School Blog Hop - The Stamping Boutique!

The Stamping Boutique is having a Blog Hop and the theme is "Back to School".  To help celebrate Tracey came up with some fabulous new back to school images that you will get to see along the way.  If you hopped over to my blog from Crystal B's blog than you are on the right track!  If not be sure to start back at the beginning on Aletha's blog so you don't miss anything!  Be sure to comment along the way as there may be prizes to be won :)

For my card I used the "Back to School Apple" digi image and paper pieced the whole thing!  I have to say I love this digi image & am sure I will use it quite alot since I can make it large for my card or keep it small and add lines for journalling.  The perfect image for those back to school type projects or scrapbook pages!  I used some cork paper by Karen Foster that I've had forever and the DP was from the  DCWV Grade School stack of papers.  The number's are metal pieces by Making Memories & the brads I've also had for quite a while!  I think I'm going to use this for either a scrapbook page or for the front cover of a mini photo album showcasing school photos of my son from kindergarten through the years.

Hope you enjoy the hop....your next stop is Donna!  Have fun :)

Flowery Sweet Pea Image from Sheet #14 - Paper Jewels

Happy Friday!  Can you tell I love my Sweet Pea images from Paper Jewels?  This image is another one from Sheet #14 of the Ching-Chou Kiuks Fantasy Art Collection.  If you haven't coloured any yet you are missing out as they are some of my favourite images to colour.  Paper Jewels has an amazing sale on right now (& I just bought some more) so head over and check it out!
I coloured the image with copics and the paper was all from scraps so not sure of the manufacturer except the green striped DP which is from Stampin Up.  The gorgeous flower is from Prima, rhinestone brads from recollections & the ribbon is from my overflowing ribbon drawer which I'm sure I picked up from Michaels!  Have a fabulous weekend everyone!  It's a long weekend here & I'm hoping to get lots of crafting time in!

The Stamping Boutique - AJ with Heart Banner

I haven't posted much in the past week, things have been kind of hectic for me lately to say the least both at work & at home.  I've been colouring some images but just didn't have much time to create!  For this card I used up some scraps from the last card I made which was nice!  The image I used was "AJ with Heart Banner" by The Stamping Boutique!  I love this image, it's so adorable!
All paper was by Scenic Route except for the solid green which was from the Basic Grey Green at Heart collection.  I coloured the image with copics and used an EK border punch for the wavy border & a McGill punch for the tab with the I love you sentiment.

If you haven't checked out The Stamping Boutique store lately, you definitely should!  Tracey had the whole store re-done & it looks fabulous.  Very bright & cheery and a great layout too!  Also you still have time to enter the monthly contest being held over at The Stamping Boutique Challenge Blog.  Upload any cards you make using TSB images & you have a chance to win 5 free digi images of your choice :)

Paper Sundaes Challenge #28 - Back to School

Happy Sundae!  Today marks the 28th challenge for Paper Sundaes, boy how time flies!  This week's Paper Sundaes Challenge #28 is a Back to School Challenge and is sponsored by our wonderful monthly sponsor Simon Says Stamp!  Show us your Back to School or Teacher Creations!  I have to say I had a hard time with this one since I don't normally make Back to school cards however I did try something new which I'm completely addicted to now!  That is colouring with Prismacolour pencils & blending with odorless paint thinner.  Bet you thought I'd never colour with anything other than copics....that's what I thought too!  The image I used was by Magnolia & is called "Tilda with Slate" which you can purchase at Simon Says Stamp.  I had received it in an image swap over at SCS and it was stamped with non-compatible ink for copics so I decided to try the Prismacolours...SO MUCH FUN!  Here's my card:
I don't have many colours but I think for my first attempt at it I managed OK.  The paper is all by Scenic Route & I absolutely love this paper and wish I had bought more of it!  I picked up the ribbon recently at my favourite LSS Country Lane (it is suede in the centre) and the square red brads I've had forever so it was nice to use them.  The scallop oval was cut with a Spellbinders Nestabilitie die.  Simple card but I'm happy with it.

On another note if you are a member online on Facebook did you know that Simon Says Stamp has a group as well?  The link to the group is here & of course I'm a member!  I saw a post yesterday that they are going to be carrying Prima Papers really soon & here is the link to see them.  They are fabulous!  The great thing about being a member of this group there is that they post new items they are carrying, information about sales, card inspirations & of course random draws for prizes!  I've yet to win but I keep trying!  Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend!

Happy Friday!  This has been an extremely long & difficult week for me & I'm so glad Friday is finally here!  My card for today features the CC Designs Stamp - Swiss Pixies Birgitta on Stump which is currently on sale at Paper Jewels along with many other stamps from CC Designs, Bildmalarna, Sweet Pea & Spesch!  She was coloured with copics and then cut out with a nestabilitie die and mounted on some Basic Grey Paper from the Green at Heart Line.  I added a ribbon, some flowers & some dew drops to finish it!
Hope everyone has a FABULOUS weekend and has sunshine wherever you are :)

Paper Sundaes Challenge #27 - Make your own flowers

Happy Sundae!  When I first heard about our Challenge #27 - Make your own Flowers for this week over at Paper Sundaes I thought "Wow, this will be easy".  Boy was I wrong.....I found a tutorial that I really wanted to try over at Splitcoaststampers for rolled flowers.  They looked so beautiful so I couldn't wait to try it and I did however my flowers didn't look anything like flowers so I scrapped that idea.   Not sure what I did wrong but will try it again.  The flowers I made for my card were cut out using a SU punch and then inked & stickles added and layered together with a brad....very simple!  For my card I chose to use the image "Fairies on Tiptoe" by this week's sponsor Lili of the Valley.   I have to say that they have some of the most adorable stamps & even have some brand new Christmas stamps which were just released so be sure to check them out!

I coloured this super sweet image with copics and added pink stickles to the flowers.  All paper I used was from "My Mind's Eye - Totally Girl" pack.  I inked the edges with Versamagic Spring Pansy Chalk ink and sprayed the whole card with Pearl Glimmer Mist.  It really shimmers so much in person but I couldn't capture it in the photo.  The butterflies were cut out using a Martha Stewart Punch.  Other supplies used:  pearls by Hero Arts, SU scallop border punch & circle & scallop circle nestabilities.  I really love this card since it's using my favourite colour purple!  Hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend!  PS - Don't forget about our Paper Sundaes Design Team call, we are looking for 2-3 new members!  Check it out here!

I will be entering this card in the Flutter by Wednesday Challenge #113 - 3 or more layers.

Paper Jewels - Sweet Pea Gift Card

Happy Friday everyone!  I hope you are enjoying fabulous weather like we are here in BC, Canada!  It's been so hot for the last few weeks which is a nice change!  Today I made a smaller gift card as I never seem to have any on hand to add to a plant or some flowers I may be giving to someone!  I used one of the images from Ching-Chou Kiuk's Sheet #14 which was perfect for this card.  You can pick up this image at Paper Jewels & I just noticed that it is on sale right now (along with many others)!

The card only measures about 2.5 inches x 2.5 inches so the image was a perfect fit!  I coloured her with copics and then added glossy accents to all of the flowers.  The paper was from K & Company.  Have a great weekend everyone!

While I was away on vacation I managed to get a few images coloured!  I made this card using the sketch from The Sweet Stop Sketch #64 (SSS64).
This image from The Stamping Boutique is called "Cynthia's Journal Fairy" and I coloured her with copics and added a tiny bit of stickles.  The paper that I used is from Basic Grey as is the felt flower & the buttons.  Other supplies used: Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder & SU border punch.    Don't forget we have another challenge this month over at The Stamping Boutique Challenge Blog!  If you enter your creations using TSB images you have a chance to win free digi stamps!  So what are you waiting for?   You can enter as many times as you like!

Blog Hop for Bella!

My card for today is extra special as I've made it to send to a little girl named Bella whom I'm sure that alot of you have heard about out there in blogland!  Bella Tucker is an 8 year old girl who developed a serious illness on Easter and although the survival rate was low, she fought through but unfortunately lost her arms & legs to the disease.  You can read more about Bella's story at http://www.bellatucker.org.

There is a Blog Hop going on right now until Monday, July 19th for Bella and your first stop on the hop is Denise Lynn.   There are lots of prizes to be won for playing along but the best part is that you can create a card to send to Bella that will brighten her day and bring a smile to her face!  You can send your cards to:

The Bella Tucker Fund
P.O. Box 199
Londonderry NH
03053 USA

Here is the card I made to send to Bella:
The image I used was "Ragdoll Knees" by The Stamping Boutique!  I coloured her with copics and used glossy accents on her buttons!  All paper I used was scraps so not sure of the manufacturer.  The TSB store is down now for about 2 weeks while it is being re-designed and from what I hear will be FABULOUS so be sure to check it out.  There will also be a birthday celebration coming up as The Stamping Boutique will be celebrating it's 1 year anniversary.  Stay tuned for more information which I'll share when it becomes available!    Don't forget to send your cards to Bella, such a small thing to do but will surely brighten her day :)

Paper Sundaes Challenge #26 Lots of Layers featuring Sugar Nellie's Daisy

Happy Sundae!  It feels like it's been forever since my last post.  I was away on vacation which was relaxing and fun until the very last day.  We went to the beach, did some fishing, hand fed a deer (my son was thrilled and watched the 4th of July fireworks from the beach.  Of course the last day we were there my son fell at the beach and cut up his hand and leg on some barnacles which was not fun, lots of blood & I don't do well with that.  Thank goodness there were others there that could help.  Then we got a phone call that my dad's house had been broken into so he left early to rush back and it was horrible.  I felt really bad for him as he collected alot of antiques and old tin toys as well as artwork that was taken along with lots of other things like jewellry etc.   It sucks that there are horrible people that do this type of thing to others but I guess we will never get away from it.

Anyways on a happier note I made a card with my absolute favourite Sugar Nellie image "Daisy" for our Paper Sundaes Challenge #26 which is being sponsored this week by Sugar Nellie!  You can pick up this fabulous image here at Funky Kits along with many other great stamps!  The challenge this week is Lots of Layers which I thought was fun!
I layered my papers and my flowers so I think that should count, right?  Isn't this image super adorable?  It was the first Sugar Nellie stamp I purchased but wasn't the last and is still my hands down favourite!  I coloured her with copics of course!  Other supplies used:  Prima Flowers, Scallop Circle Nestabilities, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder, SU scallop border punch, misc brads and paper by My Minds Eye & K&Company.  Be sure to check out the Paper Sundaes Blog for more details on this challenge and to see the other Sundae Girls creations!  We'd love to see you play along with us & I'm sure there will be an amazing prize to be won!

Paper Jewels - Bamboo Seranade

appy Friday!  I just got back from 6 fabulous days away and it was much needed!  Today I'm back at work but it's only for one day so that's not so bad.  While I was away I took some images to colour and the card I made today was using the "Bamboo Seranade" image by Sweet Pea Ching-Chou Kiuks Fantasy Collection!  It is available at the Paper Jewels Store.  Did you know that Paper Jewels also sells CC Designs, Spesch & Bildmalarna stamps?
I coloured this image with copics and spica glitter pens and kept the colours fairly simple with just pink & green shades.  The design paper I used is from Basic Grey's Green at Heart Collection.  I used bazill cardstock for the green background piece which I ran through my cuttlebug with the swiss dots folder.  I added the pink top note die from the background, some pink ribbon & some flowers I've had forever so I'm not to sure of the brand.  Hope you have a fabulous weekend!  Be sure to check back tomorrow for another amazing design team creation :)

Paper Jewels - Sweet Peas "Time Flies"

Wow, I can't believe it is July already!  I'm glad it is since that means I get to post on Fridays for Paper Jewels!  If you haven't checked out Jenny's store lately you should as she has a whole bunch of new stamps from Sweet Peas, CC Designs, Bildmalarna & Spesch Designs!  For my card this week I chose to use the Sweet Pea's image "Time Flies" which you can pick up at Paper Jewels here.
I just love colouring these Sweet Pea images with my copics!  The paper I used was by Bo Bunny and I kept the design very simple adding only a few dew drops for embellishment.  I left the journalling block blank for now but figure when I do send it out I will add "Thank you, you're fairy sweet"!  By the time you read this I will be heading off to our families cabin on Lummi Island in Washington, can't wait!  Time for rest & relaxation and hanging out with my son and taking him fishing.  Have a great weekend everyone!
